If there is one commonality I see from 99% of so many talented young artists, it’s not enough 🔥 GOFORIT! 🔥 So many are holding back physically, emotionally, vocally... doubting themselves, seemingly afraid to make a mistake...
I get it. I did the same thing in my first degree program, to the point of being unable to sing for six years...

Manifesting internal license is not easy. .
Perhaps part of it is that any institution of learning (no matter how fabulous the program and its instructors) is perceived by many a student’s back brain as a “biggerthanme” The internal reaction to the hovering parent continues to be active; students shrink to protect themselves. The building itself manifests as an internal Thought Police - Big Brother is watching, so don’t you dare go 100% for that high note! .
The spectre of being graded and advised can appear to a student as “opportunitytobecritisized” or “opportunitytobewrong”. This truncates creative thinking and curtails taking chances. .
Grade school tends to kill imagination anyway, and here’s the thing: We need imagination in order to see how GREAT we can be, and to map out a route to achieving that greatness. 💪
I mean, firstly we have to notice we are holding back, then we have to give ourselves permission to let go, then we need to figure out HOW to step fully forward into the spotlight - a daunting set of tasks indeed. And, you can do it.
