Our voice informs much: it is a brilliantly honest and frighteningly accurate barometer of how we feel inside, and how our peri-personal space exists in relation to the external world.
❓❓❓👇
Is the voice placed too far back in the throat, hiding in the cave?
Is the voice overly breathy and therefore non-resonant, unsure of its place(ment) in the world?
Is the voice placed too high in the sinuses, lacking the depth and stability of chest resonance?
Is the voice hard, inflexible and grating?
Is the voice overly soft, wavering, with no core to the sound?
Is the voice overly bright, sitting too high in the overtone series, lacking the depth and grounding of undertones?
Is the voice overly dark, drowning with undertones, lacking the space, spin, freedom and upward mobility of the overtone series?
Is your voice free?

Trauma-Informed Voice Therapy works through Vagal Toning and Deep Core stimulation. It’s fabulous, interesting and fun work, especially when it is coupled with Breathwork, Restorative Yoga, and Empowering Movement disciplines.
And, ps, by trauma I don’t necessarily mean complex or deep developmental. It could be a history of being told to “shush” at an unfortunate time, or having the loudest (best) voice in grade four choir class and having some shitty choir teacher telling you to mouth the words...🤬🥶😱
Who doesn’t like to stretch, roll around on balls, breathe heavy, run around like Sumos and Warriors, and make funny joyous sounds? I know I do...
🎶 Everyone’s a singer, baby, that’s the truth, that’s the truth...🎶
